Grace Children's Learning Center uses self signed certificates for its secure web connections. This method does not make the connection any less secure, but GCLC recommends that the certificate be imported into your web browser cache. After importation the error that is generated when you first connect will disapper.

If you connect in the future to the web site and the certificate error returns then GCLC has changed the certificate or you did not connect to the correct site.

Instructions for importing certificate in Internet Explorer 7.

1. Clicking the Classroom Information paint splotch will bring you to the page pictured below.



2.  Clicking one of the three links circled above should give you a warning page like the one pictured below. Click on the link to continue to this website. The rest of the discription is based on clicking the "Login to Secure Area". The procedure is the same for the other two links that use https.



3.  Choosing the "Continue to this website" option will bring you to the main page of the parents portal after you successfully login using the username and password you provided when you registered. Once you are on this page, place your cursor arrow over the "Certificate Error" box and click your right mouse button.

4. This will display a pull down menu as pictured below. Right click on the "View Certificates" link.

5. Choosing the View Certificates link will show the certificate for GCLC and is pictured below.  Choose the "Install Certificate" button to install this certificate into your web browser.

6. Once the "Install Certificate" wizard starts, unless you have special requirements, just accept the defaults as shown below.

7. Allow the wizard to choose the storage location for the certificate.

8. Select "Finish" to complete process of inserting certificate.

8. If you though "Finish" meant the end, you would be mistaken. Click on the "Yes" button below to REALLY finish.
